Proverbs 23:18 - for surely there is an end, and your expectation will not be cut off.
This text is a promise for those whose hope is the Lord.
People of God we can rest assured that every spoken word of God concerning you and I who belongs to Him WILL come to pass now and in the future.
We as the people of God have a hope that we can look forward to with GREAT expectation. Jesus is our Hope and our eternal rest with God the Father.
If Jesus is not your hope, where is your hope on today? What is it built upon? What is your expectation concerning it?
No matter what happens to us or what we are go through in life, never let your own expectation over your life be negative. Your outcomes in life will not just be according to your prayers, your faith and your confessions but also according to your expectation.
What we expect, we oftentimes have a tendency to speak. Be careful what you speak over yourself and your family.
This text before us give us confidence in knowing that the things we are expecting from God will happen.
The woman with the issue of blood had hope to be healed and by her confession of faith after having heard that Jesus was passing by she said "I BELIEVE" and then set out to get that which she had hoped for by risking her life in pressing her way through a crowd who considered her an outcast and received her healing for when she touched the hymn of Jesus' garment, Jesus felt virtue come out of Him and asked "who touched me". With just one touch, the bible declares that 12 years of bleeding stopped immediately. Jesus said "daughter, your faith has made you whole".
What should our hope be built upon? The Word of God, Jesus blood and His righteousness, the name of Jesus and the free grace and mercy of God to all that would believe.
Proverbs 10:28 – The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
There is a song that says "my hope is built on nothing less."
Let's listen to the lyrics that says "My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
When darkness veils His lovely face, I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale, My anchor holds within the veil.
His oath, His covenant, His blood, Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay.
When He shall come with trumpet sound, Oh, may I then in Him be found; In Him, my righteousness, alone, faultless to stand before the throne.
Where is your hope on today? What are you eagerly desiring for? I can only hope that it is your desire to know Christ and Him crucified. This is the everlasting hope for everything else is temporary and short lived.
Is Christ your foundation? Our eternal hope can be found in Christ alone.
Where is your hope? Not sure, try Jesus today for He promises that those who hope in Him will not be brought to shame.
