Psalm 5:11 - But may all those who seek refuge in You rejoice; may they ever shout for joy, because You defend them; may those who love Your name be joyful in You.
David, a man who is described by God as a “man after God’s own heart” is in the midst of pain and persecution and instead of seeking out man for help against his enemies, he passionately seeks out the Lord his God as he often did with an open heart.
What about us? Where do we run to in time of trouble? Whom do we seek out in the fierce battles of our lives? Is it friends and family members first or is it the Lord our God was always David’s first choice and should be ours too.
The older I get I am learning more as I grow through the leading of God’s Holy Spirit, the Word of God and prayer that God is able to do what man can not do and that it is important that i daily reassure myself by faith in the Word of God and prayer that in all circumstances i MUST seek to put God first, regardless of how painful my situation may be.
It is in the safety of God where pure joy in the mist of the storm is found! It’s not that you are in denial of the facts before you, but that you have allowed your faith to rise to a level in God where you trust Him to work on your behalf and in the process you will continue to have faith in Him, trust Him, and find rest and “JOY” in the power of His Might.
If we could only believe that in “DUE SEASON”, God’s appointed time, He will work things out on our behalf we will save ourselves from a lot of anxiety, worry and stress over things we have no control over during the process of our testing.
Enemies on your trail? Seek God and tell Him all about it for He promises to help you! Yes, the Lord our God is our hiding place, our shelter, our “JOY” and our refuge in the troubled storms of life.
David reminds us that when chaos is all around, we can still have “JOY” in the midst of them for we know that the Sovereign God of the universe loves us and claims us as His own, therefore, we can run to Him for He promises to protect us and give us His “JOY” as we wait for Him to work on our behalf.
Psalm 46:1-God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
When David was in danger from his enemies He seek divine help from God in heaven. His prayer was that God would guide and protect him and give him “JOY” and keep him safe. This should be our prayer too people of God.
Psalm 91:1-2 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
The Lord our God is a “SECRET, HIDING PLACE” where we can find joy and peace in the midst of ALL circumstances in life. Yes, even in the midst of a chaotic world, wars, rumors of wars, trouble on every hand, there is “JOY” to be found under the wings of God Almighty.
God has given us David as our example on today as to what we should do in the time of trouble and persecution.
The Call today is to seek the Lord God through prayer and you will find the joy and help you desperately stand in need of.
Yes, there is joy to be found, even in the midst of trouble!
There is found in the Lord our God! Seek Him on today for your much needed help!
