Psalm 150:1-6 Praise the Lord!
Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the firmament of His power! 2 Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to His excellent greatness! 3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; praise Him with the lyre and harp! 4 Praise Him with the tambourine and dancing; praise Him with stringed instruments and flute! 5 Praise Him with loud cymbals;
praise Him with the clanging cymbals!
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord!
Today is the first Sunday of a new year and if you are breathing and reading this blog, the call to the Lord’s house for praise and worship today is to you too!
Every day is a day of thanksgiving, but today is the day that we collectively come together as the body of Christ and offer up our sacrifice of praise, thanksgiving and worship to the Lord our God.
Yes, WE do need to come together as a body of believers. We are commanded to do so in scripture. It’s called corporate worship.
Praise and worship to the Lord our God is a biblical mandate from God Himself to His people!
Our mandate concerning corporate worship is found in Hebrews 10:25 Some people have gotten out of the habit of meeting for worship, but we must not do that. We should keep on encouraging each other, especially since you know that the day of the Lord’s coming is getting closer.
Say what you want, reason in your mind all you want as to why you should not get out to the Lord’s house today among the believers all you want, but according to the Word of God, we are commanded to do it. The choice is your’s!
One thing of a surety, faith without works is dead! Faith is an action word! Where is the evidence of your faith? It sure is not in your works because we are not saved through works but by God’s grace through faith and not of works.
Today is the Lord’s day and God does not want to hear any more excuses from you today or even this year as to why you should not, could not or will not get out to His house to worship Him on today in corporation praise and worship with the other believers.
Choose ye this day whom you will serve!
