Job 23:10 But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold.
Job, a man of great faith and sufferings, declares in this text that God knew the journey of life he was traveling, He knew his beginning, his end and his current situation.
In other words, Job was declaring “GOD KNOWS”!
Yes, Job knew that God was not only paying attention to the road he was traveling, but what he was also going through as he traveled, and that he had full assurance that if “God knew”, then by faith he believed that when his days of testing, sufferings and purification of his faith are over, God will bring him forth with evidence of faith that is like pure gold.
At time of great pain, great suffering and even great loss, Job declares these words concerning the Lord His God written in this text.
Job had suffered great loss. He had loss all of his children, all of his live stock, all of his wealth, his health failed to the point where scripture says “flesh fell from his bones “, and to top it off his wife whom he loved dearly (Mrs. Job) told him to “curse God and die”.
Job suffered and his faith in it is beyond comprehension for some, but yet, He kept God in view.
Job spoke profound words of hope in this text to himself whereas many others who would have found themselves in his situation, would have done the opposite in cursing God.
In the midst of your greatest pain and sufferings, what words have your or are you speaking? Are they words or faith, hope and trust in the Lord your God or are they words that are full of death, doubt and unbelief? What are you speaking in the midst of pain and suffering?
Job is a prime example of one who keeps God in view in spite of the unbearable pains, sufferings and sorrows life had brought him.
I too must confess that in my many years of unbearable pain, suffering and unforeseen exit of ever getting out of the heart wrenching hurt and pain I had to endure, I still trusted God and I did not waiver in my faith.
Did I cry, kick and screamed to God? Yes sir and yes maam, but I never lost my hope nor faith in God. As a matter of fact, it was in my unbearable pain and suffering where I learn to truly trust, lean and depend on God for he was purifying my faith too and I know that He was my only way of comfort and escape until He had brought me out of it.
When I came out of my many years of pain and suffering, I came out with greater faith and a testimony of the goodness and power of the Lord my God. Yes, I been in the fire and it was real hot, but yet, God kept me in the midst of it!
No, I did not suffer like job, but it sure felt like it because I was in the fiery furnace of mental and emotional suffering for years.
On today with conviction and through the power of God’s Holy Spirit and His unchanging Word, I say “LOOK AT GOD” for God has brought me out of the blazing, fiery furnace and my faith in Him is indeed stronger and most of all, I still have a praise inside of me and I do not look like what I been through! GLORY TO THE LORD MY GOD!!!!
Throughout scripture God has given us examples of hope for the journey called life. We can use them to help show up a better way or idea of how not to so much escape the pain, but how to survive in it.
There is a purpose in the pain! The key is to trust God in the process!
The Lord God is the Sovereign God of the universe and guess what? He knows all things.
Yes, He knows!
