Psalm 103:8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.
God’s graciousness, compassion, love and mercy is a divine benevolence to guilty humanity that are not deserving by us, but, are granted to us by God through Christ Jesus based on His love for us and most of all, because of who He is.
The Lord God is judge of all and He alone has ALL the evidence needed to condemn us and put us on trial if He chooses to, but instead He chose not to give us what we deserve, which is wrath and punishment, but instead He gave us unending love, compassion, grace and mercy.
As scripture declares in this text in vs#10-God does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. THAT’S LOVE!
People of God we must daily remind ourselves of what the Lord has done on our behalf because sometimes the issue of life, sin, pain, sickness, anger, bitterness, resentment, guilt and sorrow blinds us to what God has already done and what He is currently doing in and through us.
People of God, whatever it is that you are dealing with that is weighing you down can be broken as you take a moment and reflect in the rear view mirror of your life and take a good look at the ALL the mercy, grace and loving kindness that the Lord our God has already performed on our behalf through Christ Jesus and we will be able to move on in hope for the future in knowing that our God is the same God and yes, He can and will do it again!
I personally believe and am a witness to the fact that God would NOT bring us to where we are in Him and abandon us now.
It is the Lord God who is the sustainer of His people. It is He who has has sustained us through the past and I have no doubt that He WILL DO IT AGAIN!
Indeed it is because of the Lord’s great love and mercy towards us that we are not consumed. His mercy towards us are new every morning. The Lord our God is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and His in love for us NEVER fails even when we falter.
Hebrews says in 4:15- “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.”
It is encouraging to know that even “dust” has potential when it is in the hands of the Potter.
Today is the day for all of us to find a quiet place and reflect on what God has done for us and daily continues to do for us through Christ Jesus in showing us loving kindness, mercy and compassion which we deserve not!
Thank You Lord for your faithfulness and your loving kindness towards us!
