2 Timothy 2:13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
The Apostle Paul wrote this letter to encourages his son in the faith, Timothy to be strong and endure hardship as he faithfully work for the Lord His God.
Paul knew that as a young Pastor Timothy not only needed encouragement but he also needed strength to endure the task that was set before him, therefore, he tells him “my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”
As with the people of God in the Bible, we too have an assurance as the people of God today that the Lord our God is always with us by means of His Holy Sprit to give us strength. However, we must receive this strength. Paul had to encourage Timothy so I am therefore encouraging you all on today to remain faithful to the task that God has assigned to you as His servant in the earth.
We are reminded in Isaiah 40:29-31 God gives strength to the weary and to those who have no might and are weak, He increases strength. 29-Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 30-but thosewho hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Be strong! Not in Timothy’s power and might but in the power of God’s strength and might. This was an important encouragement that was not only necessary but needed, considering the position of Timothy as a young Pastor who has to care for the soul’s of God’s people.
Paul's purpose was to encourage Timothy to endure hardship for the sake of Christ as he, Paul himself, has and continued to do.
The Apostle Paul had been called by God himself and He constantly endure hardships because of Christ so he knew that Timothy would need strength and endurance to fulfill the calling God gave him.
People of God, the Lord our God is faithful even when we are not.
Faithful is our unchanging God to His Word and His promises to His people. That’s good news on today, people of God!
Knowing that our God is faithful in spite of our unfaithfulness should encourage us to endure hardship as we too daily set out to do the Lord’s will in our lives.
If we suffer with Christ and endure hardship, we will one day reign with Him.
People of God, the reward we will receive for pressing our way will be greater than the reward we will get from quitting this Christian race. Remember, one day we WILL reign with Him!
If we are faithless, He remains faithful! We cannot deny Jesus and we must keep our allegiance to Him. If anyone fall away from the faith it doesn’t change who God is because He remains faithful to who He is because He CAN NOT deny Himself!
If we faithfully continue on this Christian journey doing what the Lord has commanded of us unto Him, He is faithful to fulfill His promise of everlasting life for us with Him in eternity.
Our Faithful God is ever true. He never changes!
Lord, our trust is in you because Your faithfulness fails not. It is because of Your faithfulness and new mercies everyday that we are not consumed.
Father, for all that You do and have done in the lives of your people, we boldly make this confess on today “ you have been good and You are indeed our “FAITHFUL” God whom we can depend upon and look to in our times of trouble and need. “
Oh God! Faithful are You Lord!
Thank You Father!
Your Servant Debra
