Hebrews 4:7 again He establishes a certain day, “Today,” saying through David, after so long a time, as it has been said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.
GOD IS SPEAKING! ARE YOU LISTENING?
What is God saying to humanity around the world today? I believe He is sending forth a spiritual warning to inform us that today is the day to release the “harden heart” to Him so that we may find rest now and in eternity.
Are you struggling with a harden heart that is stopping you from hearing from God? A heart of doubt, unbelief and rebellion? Does this describe you on today?
Are you easily agitated, annoyed or uncomfortable when you hear someone speak about God, when someone prays to God or if someone preaches God’s Gospel? Does these things irate or make you angry. If so, chances are that your heart is harden against the one thing that you desperately stand in need of more than anything else in the world and that is the saving of your soul.
When the heart is harden, nothing beneficial can go in nor come out of it. It is clogged with doubt and unbelief that blinds our spiritual sight and causes us to not believe nor accept what is truth and beneficial to our soul. Truth that is based on God’s standard of truth and not self, man nor the world’s standard of truth.
God is the author of truth and He alone determines what is truth!
The question before ALL of us on today is not if God is speaking, but are we “LISTENING & OBEYING” what God is speaking to us?
How is God speaking to us? I am glad you asked. Let’s listen to Hebrews 1:1-2 God’s Final Word: His Son. In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days He has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.
Jesus is the world’s “SAVING GRACE’! Yes, He is the way that God has made for man to be reconciled back to Him. When Jesus died on the cross, He died once and for ALL who would believe.
John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. There is no other way to God! No, not works, good deeds, sacrifices, being a good person, feeding the hungry and taking care of the poor. Yes, these are good works, but they can not save us.
Jesus is it! John 3:16-For God so loved the world that He have his only begotten son, that whosoever believe in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
Ephesians 2:8-9 You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. This is God’s gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own. 9 It isn’t something you have earned, so there is nothing you can brag about.
Today is the day of release! The day to stop fighting against God by surrendering your will to His will for your life.
Today is the day to enter into the Lord’s rest! If your heart is harden, you will miss the promise land of eternity with God.
Hebrews 4:1 The promise to enter the place of rest is still good, and we must take care that none of you miss out.
Unbelief kept the older generation that escaped Egypt from entering Canaan. The promise remains of entering His rest, and we can enter into that rest by faith. Unbelief will cause us to fall short and miss out on the rest for our weary souls that God has already provided for us.
Why is today the day to release your harden heart to God? Well, tomorrow is not promised and no one knows what tomorrow holds. No, none of us know how many days we have left here on earth.
Nobody knows whether they will have another opportunity to hear God’s message. So, in the end, ‘today’ means what it says. It is this day, now, the day when you are reading this page.
Today is your opportunity to invite God into your life and ask Him to forgive you of your sins.. This is your opportunity to trust him. Do not hesitate or delay! Tomorrow may be too late. God is speaking through His Son by His Word, the Bible, today.
The Apostle James describes for us the importance of not putting off until tomorrow but entering into the Lord’s rest today in James 4:14 How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.
God insists that we must have the right attitudes towards him. And only if we do can we enter God’s ‘rest’ through a personal relationship with Him in Christ Jesus.
This is your opportunity to trust God today. Do not hesitate or delay! Tomorrow may be too late.
God is speaking! Are you listening or is a harden heart stopping you from hearing and obeying God?
TODAY! If you hear God’s voice, harden NOT your heart!
SPEAK TO OUR HEARTS LORD!
