Matthew 25:1-13 Then the kingdom of heaven shall be like ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were wise and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps, but took no oil with them. 4 But the wise took jars of oil with their lamps.5 While the bridegroom delayed, they all rested and slept.
6 “But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Look, the bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!’
7 “Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. 8 But the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps have gone out.’
9 “The wise answered, ‘No, lest there not be enough for us and you. Go rather to those who sell it, and buy some for yourselves.’
10 “But while they went to buy some, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.
11 “Afterward, the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open the door for us.’
12 “But he answered, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’
13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.earing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
Preparation in every area of life is a necessity and not an option. So it is with preparing to one day meet Jesus. He did say that He was going away to prepare a place for His people, but, one day He will be back to receive them unto Him, for where He is, they may also be.
Is Jesus speaking about you in this text? Are you one of the ones He said He is preparing a place for and coming back to get? These are questions we ALL must daily ponder and answer for as sure as we are breathing, the Word of God is true and it will accomplish every thing God said it would.
The perilousness of times that we now live that the bible describes as the “days of evil” is a good sign to ALL of us that we need to make sure that our soul is anchored in Jesus!
Matthew 24 gives us the signs to look for concerning the return of Christ. When that is? The Bible says no man knows the day nor the hour, not even the Son, only the Father.
Well, if we do not know when the rapture will take place, it would only make sense that we prepare now for we have an assurance that it will happen. Making plans to one day meet Jesus starts right now, right where we are. I had 2 close family members to die within 4 months apart last year, unexpected. They did not expect death so sudden because of their young ages, neither did any of us.
Look at the world, the chaos, the confusion, the weeping and crying, the whaling, the fear, the pain, sorrows, crime, violence, etc. Does these things mean anything to us? Are they a warning to us to get our spiritual house in order? What is the world affairs saying to us? It’s time to anchor in Jesus is what’s it’s saying!
The 10 virgins and the Groom. They did not know when the Bridegroom would come, but all 10 knew He was coming, though. Five were prepared to meet Him and the other five were not. I guess they thought they had more time to prepare.
When Noah warned of the coming flood, he was made a mockery of by those who were eating, drinking and being merry for there was no sign of rain or the coming of God, except the building of the ark, which they thought was a mockery too. The bible says when God’s appointed time came, the ark was finished, Noah sent out a last minute warning once again to enter in the ark of safety and again, the people refused once again to believed him. Noah and his family boarded the ark with animals of every kind, and guess what? The scripture says “GOD SHUT THE DOOR”! The opportunity for salvation was no more and guess what? the entire creation drowned in doubt and unbelief. When they realized that that God’s Word spoken through Noah was true when the rain did not stopped and they begged to enter therein, thinking they had that last minute thief on the cross moment and they didn’t and I am sure they were terrified, but it was too late and everyone perished. The opportunity for the saving of their souls were no more.
Scripture declares that Jesus is one day coming back. The question to be answered is will we be ready? Will He find us working in his vineyard telling dying men and women that the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life.
This text is a prime example of why living our lives in a way that prepares us to one day meet Christ is so important. There were 10 virgins in this text. Five prepared to one day meet Christ and the other five did not counted it as such a big deal and did not prepare.
One day, like the five foolish virgins in this text, will be caught off guard by an unexpected end if we do not know JESUS FOR THE PARDON OF OUS SIN.
JESUS SAYS “I’LL BE BACK”!
WILL YOU BE READY? Will you be found among the five wise virgins who prepared by having their oil lamps ready or will you be among the ones who choose not to prepare and missed the opportunity of eternity with Christ?
I have an assurance on today from the Lord God that none of you who come to this blog site will have your blood stains on my hand because I told you what thus says the Lord!
Where do you stand today on preparations to one day meet Jesus?
BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO THE LORD FIND WATCHING WHEN HE RETURNS!
