Mark 5:27-29 When she had heard of Jesus, she came in the crowd behind Him and touched His garment. 28 For she said, “If I may touch His garments, I shall be healed.” 29 And immediately her hemorrhage dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction.
Everyday of our lives we take a risk, sometimes without realizing it because it is done spontaneously.
Have you every been desperate for help in one way or another? Well, I am sure if we all could be honest for a moment, we all could answer with a resounding ‘YES” to this question.
The story of this woman is a story of mine. I too had spent yeas in desperation of a healing. Not from an issue of blood, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually from a sin sick soul and one day Jesus touched me and I am no longer the same, for a change had come over me.
Desperate is the condition in which we find this woman in our text. What about you? Have you gotten desperate for Jesus yet? What are you doing about it?
The desperate condition of this woman: (1) sick 12 years; (2) an outcast in society; (3) financially broke (4)physically drained and (5) in desperate need of a healing miracle.
The woman with the issue of blood shows us how to pursue the miracle we desperately need.
There is one word that caused this woman to risk it all, including her life. She was already slowly dying due to 12 years of bleeding so she got up one morning with a purpose in her heart to take the risk for her life depended upon it.
What is faith? Webster says:complete trust or confidence in someone or something. Scripture defines it this way in Hebrews 11:1-confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Without “FAITH” it is impossible not only to please God, believe God, but also to receive from God, the supernatural blessings of God. The things we could have had if we could only believe.
Mark 9:23 - Jesus said, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
This word, “FAITH”, not only produced the opportunity for taking the risk, but it leaped in her spirit to the point where she got up and did something about it. She made her way to Jesus for she heard He was passing by and she knew that He alone could provide the miracle she stood in desperate need of.
This woman faith was seen in the words she spoke out of her mouth. Let’s listen: “If I may touch His garments, I shall be healed.”
What are you in desperate need of on today? Where is your faith? Are you willing to take the risk?
The result of taking a risk with Jesus by this unnamed woman resulted in her healing. Let’s listen to verse # 29 &30 “And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
The woman with a 12 year issue of blood is proof of what taking a risk with Jesus will produce!
What risk are you willing to take with Jesus? He alone knows the true touch of genuine, desperate “faith” for He spoke these profound and comforting words to this woman in vs#34-Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
My question to every reader of this blog on today is ‘ARE YOU WILLING TOTAKE THE RISK WITH JESUS?”
Your greatest miracles are NEVER apart from desperate “FAITH” in Christ Jesus!
ARE YOU WILLING TO TAKE THE RISK?
