MISSIONARY WORK

                                                                   A CALL TO MISSION WORK

PROVERBS 19:17-If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD--and he will repay you!

PROVERBS 19:17-If you help the poor, you are lending to the LORD--and he will repay you!

09/16/17-Two weeks ago as I was driving home in my car, I heard the Holy Spirit speak to me concerning giving back to others through my service. Not that I was not doing any, but to do more of it with the gifts, talents and skills He has given me.

As I heard that still soft voice  of the Holy Spirit speaking to me, I said " OK Lord"!

Servant- diakonos in the greek. Means a waiter, servant; then of any one who performs any service, an administrator.  Of the servant of a King. Those through whom God carries on his administration on earth,

Today was a day of new beginning in my service to others. We may not always have the financial means to help someone, but our service to them by assisting them in any way we can is just as good. We can give someone a loaf of bread to serve the temporary hunger, but if we teach them how to bake they will never go hungry again.

The world's greatest boxer, Muhammad Ali quoted these profound words: "The service you do for others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth."

Mankind is the vehicle that God uses in the earth to get His work done.

In obedience to the Holy Spirit, I along with the Women's Missionaries from our association of churches served today at our annual clothing and food give away to help those in need.

Last night as I was preparing for today, the Holy Spirit said to me "your service tomorrow is not the clothing and food work, but in cutting the heads of those who are in need of one." I said out loud "WHAT" in a nervous and fearful way. I got up and went to the closet, pulled out my clipper bag that I had not used for over 4 years, cleaned the clippers up, sanitized all the combs and brushes, packed my bag, put it in the car and arose early this morning with my mind set on what the Lord had commanded of me on today.

As I was driving to the site where we were going to be working at today, I said "Lord, well, it's me and you on today because I have not done this in over 4 years because of knee problems." I laughed at myself and said to myself "girl, you think God does not know that?"

I served in cutting the hair for 11 men and 2 boys from 9:15am - 1:15 am. I was kinda nervous because I had not done it in years, BUT GOD!

Today was a day of joy unspeakable in giving back.  The Holy Spirit guided the clippers and I was able to cut those 13 heads on today.

Although the temperature was in the 90's, I did have a shaded spot near the church.  One of the deacons opened the side door of the church and the cool breeze from the church air conditioner was coming from the door to the outside to help keep me cool so I would not be so hot as I cut those heads. THANK YOU LORD FOR FAVOR!

I believe the call from God to mankind everywhere is to serve where we can, in anyway we can, be it something tangible, a  kind act, a kind word or deed.  If you are unable to serve in a ministry, you can still give to a ministry that is serving others.

1 Peter 4:10-Each of you has been blessed with one of God’s many wonderful gifts to be used in the service of others. So use your gift well.

I am reminded of the biblical story about Peter and John who were Servants of the most high God and how they served the need of a lame man that laid at the temple gate begging for alms.   Peter and John did not have silver, gold nor money to give, but they made use of the gift God had given them in allowing the Holy spirit to speak God's Word through them to this lame man with power and authority.  Acts 3:6-But Peter said, "I don't have any silver or gold for you. But I'll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!" The man leaped up and his legs were strengthened and he went into the temple with them to praise God. WOW!

I SAY TO ALL OF YOU WHO ARE READING THIS PAGE ON TODAY,  "REMEMBER THESE WORDS OF JESUS AS HE SPEAKS TO YOU IN-Matthew 25:31-45  “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 Before Him will be gathered all nations, and He will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates his sheep from the goats. 33 He will set the sheep at His right hand, but the goats at the left.

34 “Then the King will say to those at His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you since the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in. 36 I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you visited Me, I was in prison and you came to Me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 And when did we see You sick or in prison and come to You?’

40 “The King will answer, ‘Truly I say to you, as you have done it for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you have done it for Me.’

41 “Then He will say to those at the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave Me no food, I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, I was naked and you did not clothe Me, I was sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

44 “Then they also will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not serve You?’

45 “He will answer, ‘Truly I say to you, as you did it not for one of the least of these, you did it not for Me.’

46 “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

I leave you with these WORDS of Jesus: Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

PEOPLE OF GOD-MATTHEW 5:16- Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

I have no doubt that as you hear the Holy Spirit speak to you as you read this page, a new awakening could/should and can happen within you that should/will cause you to also take your service unto the Lord at a new level.

God bless.
