Romans 6:16 Whose Slave Are You

Romans 6:16 Do you not know that to whom you yield yourselves as slaves to obey, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?

Paul is driving home to his readers is "we are all slaves." None of us is free. We are in bondage to whatever controls our lives." Whomever or whatever we daily submit in obedience to is our master.

Whose slave are you? This is a question we all must answer everyday of our lives. Whom will we serve today?

How can you tell whose slave you are? We can tell whose slave we are by who or what we daily pledge our allegiance to. The one to whom you have chosen to obey.

Everyone of us is serving only one of two masters, for Jesus Himself declares that no man can serve 2 masters at the same time. He will either love one and hate the other.

Are you a slave to sin that leads to death or are you a slave to obedience that leads to life everlasting

As Christians, we who once were slaves to sin and are now slaves to righteousness, were handed over from slavery to sin unto slavery of righteousness by God’s power through the Holy Spirit, to serve God as slaves of righteousness.

Thank You Lord that I am no longer a slave to sin. Set free and delivered.

I HAVE BEEN REDEEMED, BOUGHT WITH A PRICE. JESUS HAS CHANGE MY WHOLE LIFE AND I AM NO LONGER THE SAME. THANK YOU LORD!!!

Whose slave are you? I am a slave to righteousness through Christ Jesus!

God bless.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 Knock Down But Not Out

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.

The goal of God for every believer is to make us into the image of Christ.

Unfortunately, change or transformation is not without pain. To be honest with you, it is a part of the process of the change from the old man to the new that NONE of us want to experience, but, it is one that is of necessity in order for us to be conformed to the likeness of Christ.

Life may knock us down, but it has not knocked us out.

In his writing of this text the Apostle Paul reminds us that quitting is not an option for the people of God, regardless of what is thrown at us or what we might have to endure or suffer for the sake of Christ.

Jesus reminds us that in this world we will have trouble, but be of good cheer for He has overcome the world!!

Feeling the pressure from persecution? The good news is that you are not forsaken for the Lord God is with you.

Feeling cast down? Why are you sad or discouraged? Put your hope in God and not in man or what you see for true hope is found in God alone.

People of God, do not lose heart. Even though the struggle is real and may appear hard at times, remember,  our outward man is perishing, yet our inward man is being renewed day by day.

Knocked down, but not knocked out! With Jesus on our side, we are gonna make it!!

God bless and do tell the Lord thank you that the enemy did not have his way in keeping you down for the Lord our God has raised you up out despair and has lifted us up to a place of joy, hope and peace in Him.

I was knocked down, but God lifted me right back up!

Thank you Lord! We Love you on today!

1 Thessalonians 5:18 In All Things

1 Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Throughout scripture we see the command to "give thanks" unto the Lord our God who has been, is and forever will be.

The writer of this text, the Apostle Paul, exhorts us not to give thanks for all things, but "IN" all things, give God thanks. In the good, bad, messy, ugly, painful, joyful, weak, strong, happy or sad times, we are to continue to praise and give God thanks.

I recall a situation I had been in a few years ago as I was studying and preparing for a thanksgiving message that I was going to preach from this same text a few weeks later about giving thanks in all things.

I did not realize at the time that it was God giving me this message for me first. It hit me like a ton of rocks when I realized it. I had to deal with my ungratefulness first before I was able to deliver what God had given me for His people. Talk about a reality check!

This, I believe was one of the most hardest sermons I had to write because I was not feeling thankful based on the situation i was currently in.

As I rant and continued to grumble and complain to the Lord about it for a while I heard this still small voice speak to my mind's heart and said "Debra, stop complaining about what is and thank me for what is not."

That day the Holy Spirit gave me a glimpse of what my situation could have been and from that day forward, I have learned, I said I have learned and am still learning to be thankful "IN" all things and not necessarily for all things because all things that happens to us is not good, BUT, GOD IS GOOD!

Remember, the call is "IN" all things give God thanks.

As hard as it may be to rejoice always, what is our alternative? THINK ABOUT IT!

I pray that today would be the day that WE ALL purpose in our hearts that "IN" all things we will continue to "TELL THE LORD THANK YOU" because it is in those test,  sufferings, pain and trials of life where we gain our testimony of God's goodness, God's presence ,God's power  and God's provision on our behalf.

Remember! "IN" all things we are to still tell God thank you for He promises to never leave us. God is always there for us leading and guiding us through life by His Holy Spirit with love.

God bless and do tell the Lord thank you "IN" all things.

Psalm 27 Allow The Light To Lead You

Psalm 27:1-14 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.

7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.

9 Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.

11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.

13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Allow the "LIGHT" to lead, guide and direct your path. If you do, you will make it to God's intended destination for your life.

God bless.

Mark 14:22-25 The Lord's Supper

The Lord’s Supper

Mark 14:22-25-As they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “Take and eat it. This is My body.”

23 Then He took the cup, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them. And they all drank from it.

24 He said to them, “This is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many. 25 Truly I say to you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”

The night before Jesus’ death, He washed the feet of His disciples and shared the Passover meal with them.

At this supper, Jesus spoke these profound words to His disciples saying "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me."

Today is a day of remembrance of what Christ has done for us.

His life-Jesus putting on flesh and dwelling among us.

His death-dying to pay for our sins.

His resurrection-proof that we too shall be resurrected and live again.

People of God, make your way out to the Lord's house on today.

Encourage the whole family and as many friends and strangers to take their place at the Lord's supper on today.

The Lord's supper is a time of one on one fellowship with Christ.

I can only hope and pray that today, you will make your way to the Lord's house to fellowship with the saints on this "Communion" Sunday in remembrance of our Lord and Savior who paid the ultimate price for our sins that we were not able to pay.

Jesus chose to be the atonement at Calvary that day over 2k years ago. Have you chosen to go to the Lord's house on today to remember His sacrifice He made for you that day?

Communion=jointly participation. Are you jointly participating with Jesus on today?

Make the connection at communion today with the Father through Christ for He is looking forward to meeting you there today in His house among the people of God on one accord in remembrance of Him on today.

God bless.

Matthew 6:22-23 Spiritual Sight Or Spiritual Blindness

Matthew 6:22-23 The light of the body is the eye. Therefore, if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is unclear, your whole body will be full of darkness. Therefore, if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

In this text, Jesus describes the eye as a lamp which lights the entire body. Our eyes are the entrance to our hearts and minds, which is the door to our souls.

Spiritual sight or spiritual blindness? How are you operating your life?

The Bible tells us that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. His goals is to make people think they are walking in the light when in fact it's the darkness of false light.

2 Corinthians 11:14-for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.
His intention is to blind us to truth, corrupt our minds and gain access to our hearts by what we see.

The devil is good at parading all manner of evil before us and when He does, the light of Christ is hidden from us.

If we truly want to be filled with the "Light of Christ", we have to turn from sin and repent and ask God to forgive and cleanse us and open our spiritual eyes.

We who claim to walk in the light have to stand our grounds against darkness in any form that attempts to make itself appears as light. If you are not true to anyone else, be true to yourself!

Thank you Lord for bringing me out of darkness into your marvelous light. Thank you for giving me a heart and mind to want to continue to walk in in your light with "clear eyes" by the leading of your Word and Your Holy Spirit.

God is light and He who claims to know and love God walk in the "CLEAR" light of His word.

God bless.

2 Peter 3:9 God Is Patiently Waiting On You

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness. But He is patient with us, because He does not want any to perish, but all to come to repentance.

In this text, Peter is addressing those who are mocking God's Word concerning His 2nd Coming because the time has not yet come. God's Word may appear to be delayed in the eyes of man, but it is always on time where God is concern.

God's timing is not man's timing, neither are God's thoughts and ways are as man. God's ways and thoughts are Higher!

Today, many unbeliever’s are still mocking God with these words "I have heard it preached all my life that GOD is soon coming and that His judgement is soon coming." Where is your God? He has not come and you keep on saying it. Where is He?"

Mock God all you want, but, God's Word is true and if you think you got lots of time to get it right with God, my advise to you is to stop the mockery and get yourself prepared to one day meet Jesus for He is coming back.

The truth of the matter is "CHRIST IS COMING BACK"! When?

The question to be answered by all of us is "WILL WE BE READY?" This question is more important than any other question we will ever answer in this life time.

God keeps His promise. Not one word spoken by God shall fall to the ground. Every Word He utters will come to pass.

My advise to all mockers is to "TAKE GOD AT HIS WORD" for every bit of it will come to fruition.

God bless.

Psalm 25:1-5 I Exalt Thee O Lord

Psalm 25:1-5 O Lord, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things; Your plans formed of old are faithfulness and truth.

2 For You have made a city into a heap, a fortified city into a ruin; a palace of strangers is a city no longer; it shall never be built. 3 Therefore a strong people shall glorify You; cities of ruthless nations shall fear You.

4 For You have been a defense to the poor, a defense to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat; for the breath of the ruthless ones is as a storm against the wall.

5 You bring down the noise of strangers, as heat in drought; as the heat by the shadow of a cloud, the song of the ruthless ones shall be brought low.

I exalt Thee O Lord. O Lord, thou art King of King, Lord of lords. Thou are exalted above all the earth.  Thou Art Exalted Above every created thing or being O God!

I exalt Thee O Lord!! You reign above all and You alone are lifted high above the earth. I EXALT THEE O LORD!!

Oh Lord, I exalt Thee!!! Thank You Lord!

Oh God, Thou Art GOD! High and Lifted Up Above All!!

You Are God who sits on Heaven's Throne. I exalt Thee O Lord!

PRAISE TO YOUR NAME JESUS!!!!! There is none like you Lord!

Proverbs 21 - The King's Heart Is In God's Hands

Proverbs 21  The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water; He turns it to any place He will.

2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the hearts 3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

4 A high look, a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked are sin.

5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenty, but of everyone who is hasty only to want.

6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed back and forth by those who seek death.

7 The violence of the wicked will destroy them, because they refuse to do justice.

8 The way of a guilty man is perverse; but as for the pure, his work is right.

9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

10 The soul of the wicked desires evil; his neighbor finds no favor in his eyes.

11 When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise; and when the wise is instructed, he receives knowledge.

12 The righteous man wisely considers the house of the wicked, but God overthrows the wicked for their wickedness.

13 Whoever shuts his ears at the cry of the poor, he also will cry himself, but will not be heard.

14 A gift in secret pacifies anger, and a concealed bribe strong wrath.

15 It is joy to the just to do justice, but destruction will come to the workers of iniquity.

16 The man who wanders out of the way of understanding will remain in the congregation of the dead.

17 He who loves pleasure will be a poor man;  he who loves wine and oil will not be rich.

18 The wicked will be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness than with a contentious and angry woman.

20 There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man squanders it.

21 He who follows after righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness, and honor.

22 A wise man scales the city of the mighty, and casts down the strength of its confidence.

23 Whoever guards his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from trouble.

24 Proud and haughty—scorner is his name, who deals in proud wrath.

25 The desire of the slothful kills him, for his hands refuse to labor.

26 He covets greedily all the day long, but the righteous gives and does not spare.

27 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination; how much more when he brings it with a wicked intent!

28 A false witness will perish, but a man who listens will speak forever.

29 A wicked man hardens his face, but as for the upright, he directs his way.

30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.

31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle, but victory is of the Lord.

People of God, pray for our world leaders and peace throughout all nations.

Help us Lord to know and understand that You Lord, is God and you have all power in your hands.

In the midst of uncertainties and a world of chaos, help us to still trust and hope in you Lord for Thou art the Sovereign God of the universe.

Your Word declares this concerning your power in Daniel 2:21-You control human events. You give rulers their power and take it away, and you are the source of wisdom and knowledge.

Amen.

Isaiah 55:6-7 Seek God Now

isaiah.jpg

Isaiah 55:6-7 Seek the Lord while He may be found, call you upon Him while He is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way,  and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

The cry of the hour is to "SEEK GOD" and "DO IT NOW," for life is short and time is filled with swift transition.

This message of Isaiah was preached to Israel and Judah but God is sending forth this same message today as a universal message to ALL of humanity. The call is to “come to Him” with our heart and minds fixed on Him, and do it now.

Today, God is calling for death to the flesh, self will, and selfish desires. Death to self and all it's sinful pleasures. Take up your cross and follow “ME” is God command.

Living apart from God on your own and doing what pleases you? I urge you to seek the Lord on today. Call upon Him and He will save you. Tomorrow is not promised to ANY MAN! It is with urgency that I plea with you to not put off for tomorrow what you can do today in getting your soul saved. Forsake evil and wickedness so that your soul may be saved.

Today is the day to find a bible base church that teaches "sound doctrine" (Jesus Christ and Him crucified) and learn of the Lord on today.

CLARION CALL: SEEK YE THE LORD "NOW" WHILE HE MAY BE FOUND.

A day is coming when you may look for God and not find Him according to this scripture. That is why you are exhorted to seek Him while He may be found! “When they cry for help, I will not answer. Though they anxiously search for me, they will not find me” (Prov. 1:28, NIV).

TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION. "NOW" IS THE ACCEPTABLE TIME!

I have done what the Lord told me to do you concerning seeking Him on today.

The ball is in your court now. You can shoot it in the hoop of salvation or you can leave it on the floor of sin and look at it as you pass by everyday without doing anything with it.

God bless.
