Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans that I have for you, says the Lord, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Indeed, God has a plan that is greater than the one we see everyday with our natural eyes.
During this time in Israel history, they were in Babylon captivity due to disobedience.
The Jewish people had been warned by one Prophet of God after another about rebellion, idolatry and disobedience to God. God had warned them over and over again to turn away from pagan idol worship and time after time again, they refused.
Because of the Jewish people's refusal to turn away from idolatry, God promised judgment upon them and in this text, that judgment had already come. They were taken captive by their enemies, the Babylonians and dragged off from Jerusalem to Babylon as captives.
In this life there are consequences for everything we do, be it good or evil. We all reap the harvest of the seeds we have sown.
In the midst of captivity, God sends forth a "Word" of comfort and hope to His people Israel by the Prophet Jeremiah and it says "For I know the plans that I have for you, says the Lord, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
There is indeed a plan greater than the one we can see with our natural eyes. God's plan is greater than our plans, His thoughts are greater than our thoughts and He alone knows what is best for us.
Regardless of what you may be going through on today, know that God is thinking about you and He has a plan for your future that is full of His "goodness and mercy".
Thank God for His "GRACE AND MERCY" on this morning for they are indeed sufficient for us.
God does have a plan for us that is greater than the one we can see.
