Psalm 25:4-5 Make me to know Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. 5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day.
David’s desire is to be fully trained in the ways of God, by God and by man. David's prayer to the Lord is that God would be his personal teacher and guide as he travel life's journey.
David recognizes his own shortcomings and humanity tendency to stray from God’s directions, therefore he asked God to “teach me your truth,” knowing that his own path wasn’t always right in the eyes of God.
"Just like ancient Israel, many people today still reject God’s direction. While God offers a path of righteousness, humanity often chooses a path of intentional sin, which leads to separation from God.
Man's ways are not God's way, nor are man’s thoughts God’s thoughts. “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death” (Prov. 4":12, NIV).
Everyone of us will spend eternity either with God or separated from God. The choice is ours.
God Himself declares this truth. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away” (Matt. 24:35, NIV).
Is it your desire to live a life pleasing to God? If so, do your best to obey God's Word according to scripture by the leading of His Holy Spirit, and God will teach you along the way in what to do and how to do it.
God’s way is the right way!
God bless.
