John 4:28-30 There is Hope

John 4:28-30 The woman then left her water pot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, 29 “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?” 30 They went out of the city and came to Him.

HOPE=elpis in the greek and is defined as hope, expectation, trust, confidence.

It was in Samaria where a hopeless woman needed hope and Jesus knew that, therefore, he went there that day and ended up staying 2 days to not only give her hope, but to offer hope to all that thirst in her town also.

Perhaps you have spent years of your life in pursuit of hope through all that the world has to offer and even yet today you still find yourself coming up empty and hopeless every time because the world's fix for hope only last a little while and then you find yourself in need of it again with the same results afterwards of hopelessness.

What desperate measures have you taken in pursuit of your fulfillment of your thirst for hope? How far have you gone in your pursuit? Is it to a place where you cried out for Christ?

She had pursued one bad choice and one sinful relationship after another which caused her to be separated from God and the people in her community because they did not want to have anything to do with her. In their eyes she wore the title of one with a bad reputation. Thank God Jesus does not see as man sees.

Jesus did not tell her about her past as a means of belittling her, but to make her aware that the hope that she had been in pursuit of is right there before her. There is no need to look any further for He is the only One who can turn a life around from being hopeless to giving one hope.

Do you feel that all hope is gone? Does the struggles of life seems to be not worth it anymore to you? Are you in search of hope on today? Perhaps you are!

What well are you dipping from to find hope? Drawing from any well other than the well of Christ will forever leave you thirsty and hopeless.

Today, people are still going to wells seeking something that will satisfy their inner thirst, hope, discouragement, uncertainty and despair.

No other well can fill the thirst of hopelessness. Jesus is the answer!

Still thirsting for a well of hope? Try Jesus!

God bless.
