Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.
Welcome to the Second Sunday of Advent, which focuses on Peace. Last week our theme focused on the candle of HOPE. It was a reminder to us all that Hope (Jesus Christ) has come, and He is coming again.
Today, December 7, 2025, at my church, Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, and other churches around this nation, and the world, the second advent candle of PEACE was lit.
The Candle of “PEACE” reminds us that Christ, the Prince of Peace, came to bring peace to a troubled world in the most unexpected ways, when he arrived.
Hundreds of years before the birth of Christ, the prophet Isaiah foretold, 'For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Do you have the PEACE of God on today? Or, are you in search of peace? Over 2k years ago our access to God’s perfect peace was made available to us at the birth of Jesus.
This candle of PEACE calls us to seek peace within our own hearts, to share it with others, to reconcile with others, and to pray for peace in our families, communities, nations, and our world.
May the light of Christ PEACE within us inspire us this advent season, to be channels of God's peace as peacemakers in a world that that is in desperate need of PEACE.
This Advent season, my prayer is that when faced with trouble and uncertainty, we would choose to drown out the noise of our surroundings and look to Christ as our source of “PEACE.”
People of God, we can rest assured in the blessed assurance of the “PEACE” of God that is with us. He is Jesus, and He lives in us by way of His Holy Spirit. Jesus is our Emmanuel, He is our Wonderful Counselor, He is our Mighty God, He is our Everlasting Father, and He is our Prince of Peace.
Jesus’ “PEACE” is a personal gift that God has given to those who believe! Emmanuel, God is with us!
God’s peace is an anchor and a sure foundation!
Peace! Walk in it, live in it, apply it, and thank God for it!
God bless!
