Psalm 27:14 Wait On The Lord

wait.jpg

Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Wait! Who wants to wait? Or, should I say who loves to wait for God’s timing?

If we could be honest with ourselves for a moment, we humans are more short patient today than we ever were. This microwave world has us thinking, believing and demanding that everything MUST be now or never.

God created the universe in 6 days. Of course He could have spoken the entirety of it into existance at the blink of an eye, but He chose not to. Maybe He is trying to show and tell us something about the fruit of time and waiting upon the Lord.

There is GREAT fruit to be gotten when we finally realize the importance and value of being patient and waiting on God’s timing. We become more wiser, understanding, patience, kind and loving.

Wait! Not in the sense of doing nothing, but with a resting of the mind in knowing that God will do just what He promised.

The command from God to us through the Psalmist today is to “wait” on the Lord and be encouraged whle we wait.

The promise from God to us is that if we wait we WILL BE strengthen in our hearts and we will be glad!

I AM GONNA WAIT ON THE LORD AND FULFILL HIS PURPOSE IN MY LIFE SELFLESSLY!

Wait on the Lord! God commands us to!

God bless.

Proverbs 2:1-6 The Value Of Wisdom

wisdom.jpg

Proverbs 2:1-6 My son, if you will receive my words, and hide my commandments within you, 2 so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; 3 yes, if you cry out for knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding, 4 if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures, 5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the Lord gives wisdom; out of His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Wisdom is the principal thing! In ALL your getting, get understanding.

God bless.

Jeremiah 6:16-19 Today Is Decision Making Day

walk.jpg

Jeremiah 6:16-19-Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths where the good way is and walk in it, and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, “We will not walk in it.” 17 Also I set watchmen over you, saying, “Listen to the sound of the trumpet.” But they said, “We will not listen.” 18 Therefore hear, O nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them. 19 Hear, O earth/ I will bring calamity on this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not listened to My words, nor to My law, but rejected it.

As God spoke through Jeremiah thousands of years ago, He is still speaking today and even right now through me to ALL of you as you read this blog.

Today is not the day to halt between two opinions any more! Today is “decision making” day so which road will you choose to travel?

God is reminding us through Jeremiah on today that if we take the road our ancestors took, we will find peace and rest, even in the midst of this chaotic world in which we live.

When the Prophet Jeremiah spoke what thus says the Lord God to His people, here is the people’s response in vs#16- “we will NOT walk in it”!  Is this spirit of rebellion against God’s authority in your life your response to God also?

God is calling the world to Him and He is not changing His mind! The path that leads to Him is the old path.

If continuing in your way on “YOUR  ROAD” and not God’s old path He is calling us on, God has something to say to us.

God’s response to  those who reject the old path of righteousness through Christ Jesus is found in this text in vs# 17-19 My people, when you stood at the crossroads, I told you, Follow the road our ancestors took, and you will find peace.” But you refused. 17 I also sent prophets to warn you of danger, but when they sounded the alarm, you paid no attention. 18 So I tell all nations on the earth, “Watch what I will do! 19 My people ignored me and rejected my laws. They planned to do evil, and now the evil they planned will happen to them.

GOD HAS SPOKEN!

Joshua declared these words “as far as me and my house, we WILL serve the Lord God!”

What about you? What is your declaration on today concerning the eternal destination of your soul?

God bless.

Psalm 75:1-10 The Lord Is The Sovereign God Of The Universe

pslam 75.jpg

Psalm 75:1-10 We give thanks to You, O God; we give thanks, and Your name is near; Your wondrous works declare it.

2 When I select an appointed time, I will judge with equity. 3 Though the earth and all its inhabitants are swaying,  I steady its pillars. Selah.

4 I said to the boastful, “Do not boast,” and to the wicked, “Do not lift up your horn. 5 Do not lift up your horn on high, or speak with an arrogant neck.” 6 For neither from the east nor west, nor from the wilderness comes victory.

7 But God is the judge; He brings one low, and lifts up another. 8 For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and it is full of mixed, foaming wine, and He pours from it; surely all the wicked of the earth will find and drink its dregs.

9 But I will declare forever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. 10 All the horns of the wicked I will cut off, but the horns of the righteous will be exalted.

Lord, you are the Sovereign God of the universe and our trust and hope is in you alone.

Thank You Father for your mighty works, your guidance, wisdom, understanding and protection.

There is none like the Lord our God!

God bless.

Psalm 116:1-2 The Lord Is A Prayer Answering God

i need thee.jpg

Psalm 116:1-2 I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my supplications. 2 Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.

The psalmist of this text sings this song of declaration and gratitude out of “Love” to the Lord His God who had heard and answered his prayer of supplication during a time of desperate need in his life.

A supplication is an earnest prayer in which a person entreats the Lord to answer his request.

God not only heard the psalmist cry for help, but He answered. Romans 10:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Oh, the joy that is expressed from one who has been redeemed by the Savior.

What about us? Wha is our declaration and or testimony this morning concerning what the Lord God has done for us? What gratitude have you offered up to the Lord even today? You are alive and still here. Is this not a reason to be grateful and thankful? We must also learn to be grateful in the little things as well as the big.

When the troubles of life that are guaranteed to come our way comes, we must remember that God is the same God who helped us in the past and He is able to do it again because He is faithful. What was true about God prior to our storm is still true right now. He changes not for scripture declares that He is the same God yesterday, today and forever.

Hope is being given and made available on today to all who would trust and believe that “EVERY WORD” of God is true.

Today is the day to trust God, for indeed,  “true rest” for our weary souls is found in Him alone.

Remember: The Lord God is a prayer answering God! Seek Him on today. Not only is He listening to hear from you, He knows your voice!

God bless.

Psalm 23:1-6 The Lord Is My Shepherd

shepherd.jpg

Palm 23:1-6 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2  He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

God the Father is our “Shepherd” and we are His sheep.

David’s great affirmation: The Lord my God is a provider, protector and the One who has a plan for my life. Do you personally declare this affirmation as your own too? I do!

The promise of Psalms 23 is that we will have everything we really need for life and living.

When I am weary and tired, God will restore my soul; (2) when the valley of life is a long road to travel and appears to be unending and lonesome, we shall not fear for the Lord our God is with us; (3) When we are nervous, worried and anxious, God’s rod of love and comfort guides us and gives us assurance and His peace that passes all understanding; (4) when life on this side is over, we have a resting place with the Lord in eternity where we will dwell forever.

The promises of God for His people is now and forever.

The Lord is our Shepherd!

God bless.

Matthew 5:1-12 Jesus Description Of The One Who Is Blessed

blessed.jpg

Matthew 5:1-12 Now seeing the crowds, He went up on a mountain. And when He sat down, His disciples came to Him.

The Beatitudes

2 And He began speaking and taught them, saying: 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.  5 Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.  6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.  7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.  8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.  9 Blessed are the peacemakers,  for they shall be called the sons of God.  10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when men revile you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be very glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in this manner they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

This text is known as the “Sermon on the Mount”. The “BEATITUDES”

Jesus, having seen the crowd, took advantage of the opportunity to teach the “Kingdom of Heaven” to the crowd and His disciples.

The word “Blessed” means “happy”.

In our world today too many people are finding it hard to live a life of true happiness because they are choosing to live it apart from God who is their creator.

If “blessed” means “happy”, what was Jesus getting at when He said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit,” or “blessed are those who hunger and thirst”? Is He saying that true happiness can be obtained? Can we possess true and lasting happiness? YES!!!!!

True “happiness” to the world seems to be contingent upon what our circumstances are at the time and what we possess. True happiness is found in our relationship with God and not in the things that we have, nor in the things that happens or do not happen in our lives. God is the source of true “happiness’ in ALL circumstances of life.

Pursuit of happiness outside of God is temporary, disappointing, painful and sometimes devastating. This is why we must place our hope in Christ and not things or people. The bible declares that those who hope in the Lord will not be brought to shame.

Does the beatitudes described by Jesus also describes you? Well, if you answered yes to this question, “GREAT” is your reward in heaven.

God bless.

2 Timothy 2:13 Faithful God

faithful god.jpg

2 Timothy 2:13 If we are faithless,  He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

The Apostle Paul wrote this letter to encourages his son in the faith, Timothy  to be strong and endure hardship as he faithfully work for the Lord His God.

Paul knew that as a young Pastor Timothy not only needed encouragement but he also needed strength to endure the task that was set before him, therefore, he tells him “my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.”

We are reminded in Isaiah 40:29-31 God gives strength to the weary and to those who have no might and are weak, He increases strength. 29-Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 30-but thosewho hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Be strong! Not in Timothy’s power and might but in the power of God’s strength and might.  This was an important encouragement that was not only necessary but needed, considering the position of Timothy as a young Pastor who has to care for the soul’s of God’s people.

Paul's purpose was to encourage Timothy to endure hardship for the sake of Christ as he, Paul himself, has and continued to do.

If we suffer with Christ and endure hardship, we will one day reign with Him.

People of God, the reward we will receive for pressing our way will be greater than the reward we will get from quitting this Christian race. Remember, one day we WILL reign with Him!

Father, for all that You do and have done in the lives of your people, we boldly make this  confess on today. “ You have been good and You are indeed  our “FAITHFUL” God whom we can depend upon and look to in our times of trouble and need. “

Oh God! Faithful are You Lord!

Thank You Father!

2 Corinthians 3:5 Self Sufficient Or God Sufficient

GOD NOT MAN.jpg

2 Corinthians 3:5 not that we are sufficient in ourselves to take credit for anything of ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God.

The Apostle Paul did not puff himself up with pride by deceiving himself into thinking nor believing that he was sufficient in and of himself to have reasoned or thought out the truths of the Gospel, because He knew without a doubt that it was the Lord God who communicated the Gospel to Him.

It is the Lord God who has made us and not we ourselves so don’t get it twisted!

ALL spiritual wisdom, knowledge and attainment is a work of God and not man. God is the one who give us clear thoughts on the how to’s in our services to Him and in life.

It is the “Spirit of God” that leads, guides and directs us into ALL truth and righteousness. John 16:33 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

I am going to leave you with the words of my Pastor, Rev. Dr. Isaac J. Holt, Jr. “If God did not keep our minds we would put our shoes on our head and our hats on our feet, so know that it is the Lord God who is keeping our minds and not we ourselves.”

As an instrument in the hands of God, I too declare that I do not think highly of myself in believing that it is Debra who brings this Gospel message and speak spiritually divine knowledge, wisdom and understanding to you daily, but it is the Spirit of God who is speaking through me and using me as the instrument in his hands to guide and direct you into the truth of His Word.

John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Do not get it twisted! All sufficiency apart from God is temporary and short lived.

Self sufficient or God sufficient? What have you been lead to believe from the Word of God, or what have you been deceived to believe from your own reasoning?

OUR SUFFICIENCY IS IN THE LORD GOD ALONE!

God bless.

Psalm 27:1-5 Security In God

light.jpg

Psalm 17:1-5 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom will I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom will I be afraid?

2 When the wicked came against me to eat my flesh—my enemies and my foes—
they stumbled and fell. 3 Though an army should encamp against me, my heart will not fear; though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

4 One thing I have asked from the Lord, that will I seek after—for me to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to see the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.

5 For in the time of trouble He will hide me in His pavilion; in the shelter of His tabernacle He will hide me; He will set me up on a rock.

Father, we thank You for being our protector and our shield.

Thank You Lord for Your Sovereign intervention in our lives even in the time of trouble..
