Psalm 118:8- DISAPPOINTMENT

Psalm 118:8-It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

DISAPPOINTMENT-"kataischuno" in the greek. In english it means to put to shame, disgrace, put to utter confusion or to dishonor.

Every one of us trusts in something or someone. Either things or another human being.

As human, we have a proven record of our tendency to "disappoint" for it is in our nature to do so. We often fail to keep our promises whether intentional or unintentional. THINGS HAPPEN that causes us for one reason or another to "disappoint" others.

Where is your faith on today? In whose hands have you placed your hope, trust and your future?

Apart from God, "DISAPPOINTMENT" lingers and wears us out with frustration as trust,  hope and faith in God continue to scream out to you to take them in your heart and mind so that you may receives the promises of God that belongs to you personally.

If God is not your answer to this question, I urge you to seek Him on today for direction in your life for now is the acceptable time to seek the Lord while He may be found.

God bless.

Psalm 139:13-16 GOD KNOWS YOU

Psalm 139:13-16 You brought my inner parts into being; You wove me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise you, for You made me with fear and wonder; marvelous are Your works, and You know me completely. 15 My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, and intricately put together in the lowest parts of the earth.. 16 Your eyes saw me unformed, yet in Your book all my days were written, before any of them came into being.

Does God know us?

Have you been persuaded  into believing that God does not know who you are? Have you been told that you are a mistake that should not have happened?

We see proof in this text of God's fore knowledge of us when the Psalmist declared to God that it was God who knitted his inner parts together.

WOW!! Still doubting God' foreknowledge of you?

Does God know you? God knows the number of hair stands on our head. Luke 12:7A-  Indeed, even the hairs of your head are all numbered.

Does God know you? No doubt it!

God's foreknowledge of us in Romans 8:29-For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

I rebuke satan's lying spirit over your mind and any thoughts he may try to bring to you that is contrary to the Word of God concerning you and your life right now in the name of Jesus and I plead the blood of Jesus against his operation of deceit, craftiness and trickery against God's people in Jesus name for he has no power nor authority over us!

SPEAK WHAT GOD SAYS CONCERNING YOU! GOD SAYS HE KNOWS YOU AND HE LOVES YOU. TELL HIM THANK YOU!

Remember, before time began, God loved you and He knew you."

God bless.

1 Thessalonians 5:18- In All Things Tell God Thank You

1 Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Life can change so quickly for all of us and when it does, that is an opportunity for us to tell God "thank You" IN the midst of them.

The Apostle Paul knew very well that life could be happy one moment and fearful the next, or up one moment and down the next. Therefore, because he has learned to be content in whatever state he finds himself, he exhorts us to do the same by thanking God "IN" all circumstances.

I can recall in 2012 when I was complaining to God about a problem I had been dealing with and instead of thanking Him that it was not as bad as it could have been, I continually complained to Him daily about it.

In my ranting about my problem to God, I heard this small still voice whisper to me, these words: "Debra, do not look at what it is that you are going through, but instead, look at what it could have been."

In hearing those words, my view of the circumstance at the time changed immediately and I went from complaining and blaming to telling God "Thank You" without hesitation.

Sometimes, life requires a true reality check! God has to give us a quick peek in the midst of our complaining, a view of what could have been.

Gratitude should be the attitude of the heart of the believer, regardless of what life throws at us.

Gratitude to God for all He has done for us will be evident in our prayer to Him in all circumstances.

As we daily learn how to be content in whatsoever state we may find ourselves, we will also find  that thanking God "IN" all things has become something common in our lives also.

"IN" all things, give God thanks for this is His will concerning us in Christ Jesus.

God bless.

Isaiah 41:13-The Lord Your God Will Help You

Isaiah 41:13-For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, “Do not fear; I will help you.”

As God said to His people Israel, He is saying to us on today.

God is declaring to us that He is our God who holds us with His right hand, therefore, we have no reason to fear or worry, regardless of the obstacle, test, trial, circumstances or issues of life.

People of God, speak these words loud and boldly out of your mouth. God is with me, God is my God, my God will strengthen me for the journey, my God will help me for He goes before me to clear my pathway, my God will uphold me with his right hand for all power is in His hands.

Kirk Franklin sings a song that is titled "my  life is in Your hands."

The lyrics goes like this:You don't have to worry and don't you be afraid. Joy comes in the morning. Troubles they don't last always. For there's a friend in Jesus who will wipe your tears away, and if your heart is broken just lift your hands and say "Oh I know that I can make it, I know that I can stand. No matter what may come my way my life is in your hands."

Feeling fearful on today? Fear not for God's Holy Spirit is our ever present help.

People of God, we can trust the Lord our God on today for He promises to keep us, strengthen us and uphold us with His right hand and for that, open wide your mouth and TELL THE LORD THANK YOU.

Because He (God) lives, I can face tomorrow. The Lord God is our God.

God bless

Romans 8:1 Your Past Is Not Who You Are

Romans 8:1-.There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Condemnation- katakrima in the greek. Penalty, punishment following condemnation

The past is the past, therefore, refuse to live there.

The slate has been wiped clean by the shed blood of Jesus Christ, therefore you have no need to worry about the past, no need to keep looking back at it or feel condemned by it. YOU ARE FORGIVEN OF IT!

Do not live looking back at your past. If you have been saved through Christ, you are no longer in bondage to your sin.

Don't judge me by my past because I do not live there anymore!

My past was my temporary residence that was used to build my character, strength and faith in God. I no longer live there, but have taken up residence in Christ Jesus where He declares that "I am no longer condemn" and because of Him, I now live in freedom with Him.

My past is not who I am!

NO LONGER CONDEMN! Our past is just that, "our past."

God bless.

Proverbs 2:1-22 The Value Of Wisdom

Proverbs 2:1-22 My son, if you will receive my words, and hide my commandments within you, 2 so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; 3 yes, if you cry out for knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding, 4 if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures, 5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

6 For the Lord gives wisdom; out of His mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7 He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly. 8 He keeps the paths of justice, and preserves the way of His saints.

9 Then you will understand righteousness and judgment and equity, and every good path. 10 When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul 11 discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you, 12 to deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man who speaks perverse things, 13 from those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness; 14 who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the perversity of the wicked; 15 whose ways are crooked, and who are devious in their paths 16 to deliver you from the immoral woman, even from the seductress who flatters with her words, 17 who forsakes the guide of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God. 18 For her house leads down to death, and her paths to the departed spirits; 19 none who go to her return again, nor do they take hold of the paths of life.

20 So you may walk in the way of good men and keep the paths of the righteous. 21 For the upright will dwell in the land, and the innocent will remain in it; 22 but the wicked will be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors will be rooted out of it.

Get "WISDOM" and in all your getting, get "UNDERSTANDING."

God bless.

Psalm 119:71 Trouble Teaches

Psalm 119:71-It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I might learn Your statutes.

The writer of this text is a man who has known great troubles in his life.

It is in affliction, pain and suffering where God's unconditional love and compassion is seen. Coming to the end of ourselves will give us clear view.

Debra said "in her afflictions" I too saw the Lord high and lifted up above all my struggles, pains and suffering. It was in my "afflictions" where I gained a new perspective of God and my need for Him like never before.

Job, in his afflictions, trusted God and was blessed by God in a greater knowledge of Him and in tangible wealth.

Believe it or not, but God does not allow trouble to happen for no reason at all. He is involved in them and He has a purpose in allowing trouble to come our way, regardless of how bad they may seem. Trouble in our lives is no accident!

Look back over your life and all that you have suffered. We all have benefited from suffering in one way or another. It was the best thing that could have happened to us for it taught us to obey God commands.

Are you in a place of pain and suffering right now? Psalm 34:17-The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.

God heard you also the first time you cried out to Him. And He started working on your deliverance immediately.

God's purpose is to refine us. To put us in the refiners furnace and to have us look more like Christ every time we come out of the fire.

We overcome afflictions by the blood and the word of our testimony!

Psalm 119:67- Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your Word.

God bless.

Psalm 27:1-14 No Longer A Slave To Fear

Psalm 27 :1- 14- The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom will I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life;  of whom will I be afraid?

2 When the wicked came against me to eat my flesh—my enemies and my foes— they stumbled and fell. 3 Though an army should encamp against me,  my heart will not fear;
though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

4 One thing I have asked from the Lord, that will I seek after—for me to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to see the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.

5 For in the time of trouble He will hide me in His pavilion; in the shelter of His tabernacle He will hide me; He will set me up on a rock.

6 Now my head will be lifted up above my enemies encircling me, therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice! Be gracious to me and answer me. 8 When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”

9 Do not hide Your face far from me; do not thrust Your servant away in anger; You have been my help. Do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation.

10 If my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me in.

11 Teach me Your way, O Lord, and lead me in an upright path, because of my enemies. 12 Do not deliver me to the will of my enemies;for false witnesses have risen against me and they breathe out violence.

13 I believe I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

14 Wait on the Lord;be strong, and may your heart be stout; wait on the Lord.

God bless.

Psalm 34:18 Brokenhearted

Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

The Psalmist declares in this text that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Does brokenhearted and crushed in spirit describes you? Is your heart wounded by the cares of this world or by someone whom you thought loved and care for you? Was it someone you felt you could trust that wounded you?

Many today are walking around feeling lonely and as if no one cares about what they are going through.  The Word of God says in 1 Peter 5:7-Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

Psalm 18:6-In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.

Brokenhearted? Run to Jesus!

Jesus is calling you on today. He is calling all the wounded in heart, broken and contrite in spirits to come unto Him.

God's greatest picture of His love for the broken and wounded in spirits is seen at Calvary.

Are you in need of healing from a broken heart and a crushed spirit? God is a healer!

When life hurts us the most, we are to focus on Christ and the Cross. The Cross is where God experienced His greatest pain and suffering.

Broken and crushed in spirit? The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Trust Jesus on today. Call upon Him. Seek Him while He may be found for indeed He is medicine for the sin sick soul.

God bless and do tell the Lord thank you for being your protector, comforter and healer.

God bless

Psalm 100 Make A Joyful Noise Unto The Lord

Psalm 100- Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth! 2 Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing. 3 Know that the Lord, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.

4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise; be thankful to Him, and bless His name. 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.

As you enter your place of worship on today, make a joyful noise unto the Lord He is and has been good to all of us. It is He that has made us and not we ourselves.

Give thanks and praise to the Lord our God on today people of God.

The Lord is looking to not only see you at His house, but He is also listening for your praise and worship with thanksgiving unto to Him on today also.
