Acts 4:5-12 Salvation Is Found Jesus Alone

Acts 4:5-12 The next day the rulers, the elders and the teachers of the law met in Jerusalem. 6 Annas the high priest was there, and so were Caiaphas, John, Alexander and others of the high priest’s family. 7 They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?”

8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers and elders of the people! 9 If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame and are being asked how he was healed, 10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11 Jesus is“‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ 12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.

Peter and John stood defiantly before the Sanhedrin council, the highest Jewish ruling court of religious leaders, who demanded to know about the miraculous healing of a man who had been lame from birth, by asking "By what power or what name did you do this?"

Filled with the Holy Spirit, Peter boldly declared that the lame man was healed by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom they crucified, but whom God raised from the dead.

Peter confronted those religious leaders with scripture, revealing that Jesus is "the stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone" (Ps. 118:22, ESV). Peter then delivered the core truth of the Gospel: "And there is salvation in any other, for there is no another name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12, KJV).

True rescue cannot be earned through human effort or worldly wisdom; salvation belongs to Jesus alone, and we must anchor our faith completely in His name by His saving grace.

CLOSING PRAYER: Eternal and all wise God, maker of heaven and earth, we acknowledge that salvation is found in your son Christ Jesus alone, and we thank You for the gift of Grace through Him. We confess our daily need for Him as our Savior. We turn away from our own efforts, and place our absolute trust in the name that is above every name. Your word declares Lord that at the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow, and every tongue will confess that “JESUS” IS LORD” (Isa. 45:23, NIV), Amen.

Thank you all for enjoying the ride here on tonight with Jesus!
