Holy Monday is the second day of Holy Week, serving as a symbol of spiritual cleansing, authority, and judgment.

Finding the temple courts filled with corrupt money changers and merchants, Jesus did 3 separate things.

Drove Out the Merchants: He physically expelled those buying and selling animals intended for sacrifices.

Overturned Tables: He knocked over the stations of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves.

Rebuked Corruption: "My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of robbers."

Symbolically, Jesus’ action can be viewed as divine disruption aimed at restoring the temple to its original purpose as a “house of prayer” rather than a marketplace for profit.

By driving out those who turned the Temple into a "den of robbers" and a "house of merchandise," Jesus was calling for a return to genuine, heart-led worship rather than profit-driven rituals.

This action by Jesus was also a symbol of restoration of holiness by removing the moral corruption that had "polluted" God’s Holy temple.

In applying Jesus’ point to our world today, it signifies the need to remove anything from our inner temple (the heart) that hinders us from a genuine connection with God.

Worship to God must be sincere, holy, pure, and accessible to people of all nations.

Remember, our bodies are a temple of the Lord!
