Genesis 16:13 The God Who Sees Me

Genesis 16:13 When Hagar heard what the angel said, she said to herself, ‘I have seen the God who sees me!’ So she called the Lord ‘The God who sees me.’

The God Who Sees Me! This is the name Hagar gave to the Lord who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen the One who sees me."

People of God, when human rejection drives you into isolation, your brokenness becomes a meeting place with El Roi—the God who sees you completely.

Consider Hagar, an Egyptian slave girl of Sarai, Abraham’s wife, who was driven into the desert and collapsed by a spring after being harshly mistreated by Sarai. Hagar was pregnant, broken, alone, and had no plan and no safety net. She was invisible to the world, but God did not leave her. The angel of the Lord found her by a spring, spoke her name, and offered comfort and a promise for her future child as a descendant of Abraham.

People of God, I want to remind you of these truths tonight! God Sees Your Pain: Hagar realized God was not a distant, passive God. She encountered El Roi—the God who sees her suffering, loneliness, and affliction. God met her in her wilderness, and He is able to meet us in ours.

Lord, we thank you for being “El Roi,” the God who sees me!

Isaiah 61:3 Beauty For Ashes

Isaiah 61:3 To all who mourn in Israel He will give beauty for ashes; joy instead of mourning; praise instead of heaviness. For God has planted them like strong and graceful oaks for his own glory.

To anyone who needs to hear this today!

Ashes represent what was destroyed. It might be the pain of a broken relationship, the grief of a failed dream, or a devastating loss that feels like the end.

The promise from God acknowledges that while pain, difficulty, and suffering are a part of life, suffering does not have to be the end of the story.

Beauty is the new life that God causes to rise from those exact ruins.

Daily remind yourself of this truth!

Proverbs 18: 24 A Friend Name Mary Note To Debra

Proverbs 18:24  A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

I received the most beautiful Facebook message today from a former coworker, Mary, and it completely made my day. We met back in 2007 when I trained her for the same role I was working. Reading her words made my heart so full and my eyes tear up in the best way possible.

Remember people of God, we enterain angels unaware.

Here is Mary’s Note to me today via facebook: It was short, sweet and from the depth of her heart. “What a Blessing you have been in my Life Debra Aiken! You led me to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ n 2007 when I met you on the 7th floor in July the 7th month. I will always remember you praying with me thru all the challenging times with my son. YOU have taught me so much about Prayer, always Referring to The Bible when answering my many questions. I LOVE YOU like family and Thank God for you in my Life.”

Scripture reminds us to show ourselves friendly because we entertain angels unaware.

Let today be the day that you take the initiative in building relationships by being warm and approachable.

From that encounter in July 2007, true friendship has been found and is still alive today! BUT GOD!

Psalm 100:2 Come And Worship The Lord Your God

Psalm 100:2: "Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

Come worship the Lord our God! Feast at His table!

The call to humanity today is to serve the Lord God with gladness and come before His presence with singing. Worship focuses our minds and hearts on eternity. It reminds us that we are not of this world, but that we have an eternal home with Jesus in heaven.

Perhaps, you are unable to physically prostrate yourself, but you can lift your voice in song and bow your heart in glad submission to your God.

The world is in peril, and if there ever was a time to fix our eyes on God, the time is now.

When we worship our God in heaven, we witness to the world whom we love. Believe it or not, we all worship someone or something.

Since everyone worships something or someone, is your heart truly focused on the one true and living God? Are you ready to enter His gates today with thanksgiving in your heart?

Ponder these two questions, and then find a quiet place to spend time with God in worship. I know when you are done, you will be glad you did!

With God, we find a safe place where we can truly be ourselves and cast all our cares upon Him, knowing that He cares for us.

1 Corinthians 8:6 God Our Father

1 Corinthians 8:6 For us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

The best way to celebrate Father’s Day is to remember that you are a child of your heavenly Father. Before we look at our earthly families, we must look upward to the One who designed the family unit.

People of God, we were created in the image of the Father! He is perfect in all His way! That’s who He is!

Before Adam ever held a child, he received life directly from the breath of God. Having been made in the image of God, Adam was placed in the garden, given meaningful work, and brought into relationship.

Adam’s very existence reminds us that fatherhood is not something a man invents for himself. It is a sacred stewardship received from the Lord. A father is called to live before God, to work faithfully, and to lead with humility.

Indeed, Father’s Day is a beautiful time to reflect on the nature of God as a loving, guiding Father. He is not a distant creator. Instead, He is a present guide who not only created fathers, but loves, leads, and guides them into all truth and righteousness.

This Father's Day, let us honor our earthly fathers while keeping our eyes fixed on our perfect Heavenly Father.

Habakkuk 2:3 Tell The Lord Thank You 16th Birthday Today

Habakkuk 2:3 The Vision at the appointed time.

Today marks the 16th year of the birth of this blog site. The Holy Spirit spoke to me in March 2010. I heard Him clear. He told me it's time to take my daily devotionals to the world wide web.

15 years prior, I had been sending out morning devotionals to family, friends, and coworkers by way of my personal email. The rest is history.

God's word is true! It will not return to Him void, but will go forth and accomplish what God sent it to do.

Thank You Lord! Great are You, and greatly to be praised.

There is no good work any man has done, that he or she should boast.

All glory and honor to the Lord MY GOD!

FAITHFUL ARE YOU LORD!

Lord, I thank you!

Job 23:10 The Testing of Our Faith Is Unavoidable

Job 23:10 “But He knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

Spiritual growth is impossible apart from the "refining" fire. It is a lifelong process of God burning away the impurities attached to us, making us look more like Him.

Fire does not destroy gold; it only purifies it. Our current struggles are not meant to break us, but to reveal our true value.

God cares more about our character than our immediate comfort.The heat of the trial is directly proportional to the glory of the transformation.

Trust the process, honor the preparation, and watch your God produce a masterpiece out of your life.

Ephesians 6:10-18 Do You Have Your War Clothes On

Have you ever felt like you were fighting an uphill battle, but you couldn't quite see the enemy?

In Ephesians 6:10-18 the Apostle Paul reminds us that we are in a real war. It is not against people, politics, or difficult coworkers. Our true struggle is spiritual.

The enemy of our mind uses discouragement, doubt, and division to trip us up. But God does not leave us defenseless.

To get dressed for the daily battle of the mind, God provides us with the armor we need.

SPIRITUAL WEAPONS

The Belt of Truth: Hold onto God’s truth to fight the enemy's lies.

The Breastplate of Righteousness: Protect your heart by trusting in Jesus’ goodness, not your own.

The Shoes of Peace: Walk with stability, ready to bring God's peace wherever you go.

The Shield of Faith: Hold up your faith to stop the flaming arrows of doubt and fear.

The Helmet of Salvation: Protect your mind by remembering who you are in Christ.

The Sword of the Spirit: Use the Word of God—Scripture—to fight back against temptation.

Armor is useless if it just sits in the closet. How do we put it on? Verse 18 tells us: "Pray in the Spirit on all occasions." Prayer is the engine that drives the armor. It connects us directly to God, our Commander. When we pray, we activate God's power in our daily lives and stand together as one army.

After you have done everything, simply stand firm.

Are you dressed for the spiritual battles that are guaranteed to come your way? If not, it’s time to get dress!

Psalm 116:12 The Unpayable Debt

Psalm 16: 12 What shall I render unto the Lord for all He has done for me?

Every single one of us has looked into the rearview mirror of our lives. When we look closely, we see the wreckage we should have been caught in, we see the self-destruction we were driving straight toward, but right next to that wreckage, we see something else: the hand of God pulling us out.

When we realize how much God has delivered us from, our hearts naturally overflow with a question. It is the same question the Psalmist asks in Psalm 116:12: "What shall I render unto the Lord for all His benefits toward me?"

Before you answer that question today, do one thing: ponder. Think about it deeply.

The humbling truth of this matter is the fact that we can never repay God. The only honest response to the question, "What can I give back" is the absolute reality that we are spiritually bankrupt. We have nothing of equal value to trade for God’s grace.

Today is the day to start rendering your worship to God by giving Him your time, gifts, talents, and attention.

In other words, be a Spirit-filled billboard of God’s amazing grace, carrying a heart of thanksgiving.

John 16:33 Shifting Our Focus In A Troubled World

John 16:33 I have told you this, so that you might have peace in your hearts because of me. While you are in the world, you will have to suffer. But cheer up! I have defeated the world

People of God, look around you! Are we living in a troubled world? Absolutely. This doesn't catch God by surprise, and it shouldn't surprise us either.

The call from Jesus is to shift our focus from the problem to the Solution. Notice that Jesus didn't say we might face trials and tribulations, He said “we will.” Expecting a trouble-free life only leads to disappointment and a denial of reality. Accepting this truth is what guards our hearts.

Today is the day to shift our focus from sadness to gladness. The world may be troubled, but Christ is triumphant! We are victorious through Him, regardless of what we must suffer in this temporary life.

The final victory was fought and won at Calvary. As the old songwriter says, "Victory is mine; victory today is mine." Stop looking at the storm and look at Jesus!
